Criterium du Dauphine 2017
(With or without bikes, VIP access to all stages available)

4th to 11th June 2017

We are official Tour Operator for the 2017 Criterium Dauphine.
The Criterium du Dauphine is like the Tour de France but without the huge crowds so an ideal excuse for a cycling holiday watching the very best riders of the pro peloton and of course cycling the same roads.
Sports Tours International is an official tour operator for the 2017 Dauphine Libere so our holidays include exclusive VIP access to the race, daily guided rides and transport.

The 2017 edition of the Critérium du Dauphine will take place between Sunday June 4 and to Sunday June 11. During the week the riders take on 1 ITT, 3 sprint stages, 1 hilly stage and 3 full on mountain stages. The opening stage starts and finishes in St Etienne and the individual time trial will be on Stage 4 over nearly 24km of undulating terrain.

The 69th edition of the Criterium Dauphine will take place between June 4th with Stage 1 in St Etienne and it will finish a week later in the Nordic ski resort of Plateau de Solaison on June 11th after 1 150 kilometres. Travel itinerary for the 3 Alpine stages of the 2017 Criterium du Dauphine:

Thursday June 8th – Arrival day:
We have chosen to stay in Albertville as it’s well located for access to the 3 final stages of the 2017 Criterium du Dauphine. Arrival day is today and you can choose to make your own way to Albertville or to make use of our airport transfer from Geneva airport. We will be operating an arrival transfer at 14:00 from Geneva airport to our hotel so we expect to arrive at 16:00. It takes just under 2 hours to complete the journey to the hotel.

On arrival at the hotel, we will assist you with building your bikes and before the evening meal, we propose a short, guided bike ride along the valley towards Moutiers.

Friday June 9th – Parc des Oiseaux Villars-les-Dombes > La Motte-Servolex (145.5 km):
The series of 3 stages in the Alps is something to look forward to with a little taste of what’s to come in July on the Tour de France as the final 50km on stage 6 of the Dauphine will also feature on Stage 9 of the 2017 Tour with the ascent of the Mont du Chat with its 10% maximum incline.

Our itinerary:
From the hotel we will propose a guided ride to the Mont du Chat, taking in some other climbs en-route. Spectators will be transported to the Mont du Chat in our minibus. We will watch the riders come past on top of the climb from our spectator tent. Evening meal at the hotel Roma tonight.

Saturday June 10th – Aoste > Alpe d’Huez, 167.5 km:
After Stage 6 and the Mont du Chat on Friday , the penultimate stage of the 2017 Dauphine features Alpe d’Huez but in a slightly different way as the riders will go up the Col de Sarenne and once in Alpe d’Huez, they will descend a little past the Bergers area before riding the final bit of the ‘classic’ Alpe d’Huez ascent through the town.

Our itinerary:
We will take you from Albertville to Bourg d’Oisans and ride the final section from Bourg d’Oisans up the Col de Sarenne to the finish in Alpe d’Huez where we will watch the riders come past twice as we can see them as they come into town from the Col de Sarenne and then walk across to the finish. Spectators will go straight up to Alpe d’Huez. After watching the stage finish, we will take you back to our hotel in Albertville to be in situ for tomorrow’s stage. Evening meal at the hotel.

Sunday June 11th – Albertville to Plateau de Solaison:
The final stage comes in the form of a short but brutal stage from Albertville to Plateau de Solaison. A whopping 4000 metres of climbing in just 115 kilometres!!

Our itinerary:
We will ride the final section of today’s stage ahead of the arrival via the Col de la Colombiere before enjoying finish hospitality and seeing the winner’s ceremony for the winner of the 2017 Dauphine. Will it be Chris Froome again to set up another Tour de France win?

Monday June 12th – Departure day:
We will be running airport transfers today back to Geneva airport from our hotel in Albertville. Please book flights to depart from Geneva after 13:00 hrs.
