The Amstel Gold Race 2018
(Pro Race and Sportive)

13th to 16th April 2018

On The Cauberg, Amstel Gold RaceThe Amstel Gold Race is the Netherlands’ biggest UCI cycling event and only one day cycling event on the UCI World Tour and it attracts a large field of top pro riders. The event is part of the Ardennes series of cycling’s April Spring Classics in Holland and Belgium.
The 53rd edition of the Amstel Gold Race will take place on the 15th of April 2018 with the Sportive version of the event taking place the Saturday before on the 14th of April. This weekend gives you the opportunity to ride the sold out Amstel Gold Race Sportive event before seeing the riders come past several times in Valkenburg on the Sunday after watching the start in Maastricht.

Philippe Gilbert followed up on his Tour of Flanders victory after giving Paris-Roubaix a miss with his 4th Amstel Gold race win. Anna van der Breggen (Boels Dolmans) won the women’s Amstel Gold Race ahead of Lizzy Deignan and Kasia Niewiadoma. The Amstel Gold Race has been taking place in the southernmost province of the Netherlands Limburg every year since 1966. Every year ‘De Markt’ in Maastricht is the start venue of the Amstel Gold Race with the finish in nearby Berg en Terblijt (Valkenburg).

The race attracts a large number of Dutch and International cycling fans each year because of its interesting list of participants. Some of the world’s best cyclists strive for victory in the race by conquering the hilly countryside of Limburg.

We offer you the chance to spend the weekend in Maastricht, one of Holland’s nicest cities at the Crowne Plaza hotel in the city centre.
