di Lombardia (Tour of Lombardy) 2017
7th October 2017
As an official tour operator for the 2017 Giro di Lombardia, Sports Tours International can offer you fantastic hospitality options for both the start in Bergamo the finish areas at Lake Como. The final Cycling Monument of the season, the Giro di Lombardia is a must for every pro-cycle racing enthusiast. Prices for hospitality start from £95 per person.
In 2016 Colombian climber Esteban Chavez outsprinted his rivals to win his first ever Monument victory in the final Classic of the season, the Giro di Lombardia. Some of the biggest names in cycling will be targeting a winning end to the 2017 season. The Giro di Lombardia offers that opportunity to go out with a bang. The 2017 route details will be released at a later date but we know that the race will start in Bergamo and it will finish on the shores of Lake Como.
Northern Italy is well known for its cycling enthusiasm. Some of the World’s best known manufacturers are from this region : Pinarello, Bianchi, Campagnolo and Kuota. The locals are cycling mad, so come along and join the crowds.
Each year the Giro di Lombardia, or Il Lombardia, reverses route. Rotating between a Lake Como or Bergamo start and finish, in 2017 the Giro di Lombardia will start in Bergamo. Just metres away from the beautiful Lake Como the riders will finish their race. Along the roughly 245 km route, the riders will visit climbs like the iconic Madonna del Ghisallo, the lower Italian Alps and beautiful Italian countryside. As is common with the Giro di Lombardia, the exact route will not be known until much closer to race day.
As an Official Tour Operator of the 2017 Giro di Lombardia cycling race we have some incredible and exclusive one day experiences available for you. You can enjoy these as stand alone options so you are flexible in terms of where you would like to stay and other travel arrangements if applicable.
Please note that this is for a ticket only so no hotel or transport is included. At the time of booking you will receive a booking confirmation. Nearer the time you will receive an itinerary with directions and details of the exact location of the stage start location. Your accreditation passes will be available for collection from the reception desk at the official start village.
Start Town Hospitality:
The 2017 Giro di Lombardia entourage and organisation will set up a start area with the team buses close to the start line. An expo type village is created at the start. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Giro di Lombardia like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the hospitality area, which will be located close to the signing on stage. In 2016, the hospitality tent was right alongside the riders corridor leading to the signing on stage. If you are into collecting autographs, this is the best place for it. In Bergamo is the Start Village where the athletes assemble in the morning along with sponsors and organisation and management before they set off.
MEET THE RIDERS IN THIS ELECTRIC ATMOSPHERE!
When you arrive in the start town, the Giro di Lombardia Club staff will welcome you. You will receive a day pass which gives you access to the Hospitality Area with snack/coffee bar service available. You will meet the riders and experience the exciting pre-race atmosphere. The highlight of the day is that you will get up close with the riders and you can mingle with the racers and team directors and other people close to the inner world of cycling. Many people really enjoy the start village access due to the fact that you get very close to actual riders and you get a good insight into the inner workings of the 2017 Giro di Lombardia
