The 100th edition of the Giro d’Italia has its spectacular final on the Piazza Duomo after an Individual Time Trial from Monza racing circuit.  A classic finale in the city where the Giro d’Italia was born with the finish line in Piazza Duomo.

Our hotel is in the heart of Milan, within easy access of all the action. You have the choice to book 1, 2 or 3 nights at the hotel and a great addition to your weekend away will be booking some fantastic hospitality on the Piazza Duomo.

The 100th Giro d’Italia...
The Giro d’Italia will have its 100th edition in 2017 and the finish takes place in Milan. The race will include 6 sprint stages, 8 medium mountain stages, 5 high mountain stages and 2 ITT’s including the penultimate stage  of the 100th Giro, from the Monza race track to Milan Cathedral. This official Giro d’Italia weekend trip gives cycling fans a chance to get a real taste of Giro d’Italia action.

Special 100th Giro d’Italia edition Maglia Rosa by Santini and Woolfie!
We are proud to have Santini as our supplier for our cycling guides. For the special occasion of the 100th edition of the Giro d’Italia, all our clients will receive a special Santini ‘Maglia Rosa’.
Santini has been producing the Maglia Rosa for the Giro d’Italia since 1993 which requires an extraordinary level of responsibility to ensure that the athlete wearing the jersey is provided with equal or better performance that their own cycling equipment provides. The Santini product and design team worked painstakingly to produce a garment fit for a Grand Tour Champion. You will also get your own ‘Woolfie’ the Giro d’Italia mascot.

The Hotel:

**** Hotel Leonardo Milan City Centre:
The 4-star superior Leonardo Hotel Milan City Centre (former Hotel Hermitage) is situated in a splendid location between Corso Sempione and Porta Garibaldi. It’s in short distance to Brera, Corso Como and the Main Railway Station of Milan. By tramway you can reach a lot of Milan’s main sights of the historic centre in just 10 minutes, such as:
  • Piazza del Duomo, the finish area of the 100th Giro d’Italia with its beautiful Gothic Milan Cathedral
  • The famous opera house La Scala
  • The luxurious shopping district of Montenapoleone

Recently renovated the hotel has an elegant and warm atmosphere in its rooms, the lobby and bistro restaurant “Il Giorno Bistrot” which features traditional Italian cuisine. Enjoy a cocktail at the bar “Caesar’s” and relax in the beautiful outdoor area where from May to October, it’s possible to enjoy aperitifs, dinner or simply have a break from the busy life. A fitness room is also available.

Day-to-day itinerary for the Giro d’Italia Final Weekend:

Friday May 26th or Saturday May 27th, 2017:
Arrive at your leisure today in Milan. Please make your own way directly to the hotel tonight; the Hotel Leonardo Milano City Centre (ex-Hermitage) located near China Town and within easy reach of the city centre.

Sunday May 28th 2017 – Stage 21 – Monza to Milan:
Today’s stage:
The Individual Time is perfectly flat (or very slightly downhill) and runs along the boulevards in Monza and Milan after the start in Monza Motor Racing Track (one complete lap is raced). A “classic” finale in the city where the Giro d’Italia was born with the finish line in Piazza Duomo.

Our itinerary:
Our hotel is conveniently located in the city centre near Chinatown with easy access to the various sights of Milan including the Piazza Duomo. More information on the hotel tab.

VIP and Hospitality options:

Puccini Hospitality:
When you arrive in the start stage town, the Giro Club staff will welcome you. You will receive a day pass which gives you access to The Puccini hospitality tent allowing  you to enjoy the festivities of the start area, within an enclosed area. Here you will have access to finger foods and tea/coffee and soft drinks. You will have an accreditation pass that will let you come and go as you please, and be up close to the riders and experience the exciting pre-race atmosphere.

Michelangelo Hospitality:
Michelangelo is the top level Hospitality that is available at the start area. Within your enclosed hospitality zone, you will have access to a better level of catering than Puccini and also the location is closer to the sign on stage. This is also where the local VIP guests will watch the start from.
When you arrive in the start stage town, the Giro Club staff will welcome you. You will receive a day pass which gives you access to The Michelangelo hospitality tent allowing you to enjoy the festivities of the start area, within an enclosed area. Here you will have access to finger foods and tea/coffee and soft drinks. You will have an accreditation pass that will let you come and go as you please, and be up close to the riders and experience the exciting pre-race atmosphere.

Dante Finish Hospitality:
Guests of the ‘Dante’ hospitality area, can arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the ‘Dante’ hospitality tent. Being in a hospitality area on the finishing straight is s great way to cheer on your favourite riders without having to push through the crowds of the general public. Viewing of the race is from the hospitality zone, standing area. The hospitality area is located on the finishing straight and will offer snack bar/coffee and drinks service. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

Leonardo Finish Hospitality:
Guests of Giro Club ‘Leonardo’ will arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the Giro Club Truck, reserved for the top stars and located in a privileged area near the finish line. The Truck will offer snack/coffee bar service, and TV screens will broadcast the final kilometres of the race until the riders come into view. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

Drive Experience – ON REQUEST
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a full day experience of the Giro d’Italia, from Start Zone through to Finish-line. You will be met on arrival at the Start Zone and have Hospitality Area access, before being introduced to your driver for the day who will show you to your VIP car for the day. You will follow the days stage and enjoy a box lunch en-route. At the finish line you will have access to the Giro Club hospitality with open bar and finger food catering.

Drive Experience includes :

  • Welcome by Giro Club staff Assignment of daily pass
  • Access to the Hospitality Area at Start with a brunch buffet with wide selection
  • VIP car on race Box Lunch
  • Access to the Giro Club Hospitality at finish line with non-stop open bar and finger-food catering

  • Maximum of 3 guests per car

Fly Experience – only on selected stages:
This is the Ultimate Experience for Giro d’Italia and cycling fans. Not only will you have the same day as the Drive Experience, but during the day you will also have a 20 minute helicopter flight over the peloton, as  the riders race along. A birds eye view of the Giro d’Italia, like no other!

Fly experience includes :

  • Welcome by Giro Club staff Assignment of daily pass
  • Access to the Hospitality Area at Start with a brunch buffet with wide selection
  • VIP car on race Box lunch
  • 20 minute Flight over the race in a helicopter

Single travellers and twin to share:
We welcome single travellers on our tours and holidays as it is a great way to join a like-minded group of people and you will make lots of new friends. If you would like to join our group as a single traveller we can offer you two options. A single room or if you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our ‘twin to share’ option. We will pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra.
