Watch the battle for Pink unfold on this fully supported 7 day tour to ride and watch the final stages of the 2018 Giro d’Italia. You have the option to include Rome so you can see the winner being crowned on the final day in Rome. Both spectators and cyclists will enjoy VIP hospitality on the mountain stages and cyclists will like the opportunity to tackle famous Giro climbs like the Colle delle Finestre and Madonna di Campiglio.

The 101st Giro d’Italia:
The Giro d’Italia will have its 101st edition in 2018. The race will include sprint stages, medium mountain stages, high mountain stages and ITT’s. This Year the race has a historic start in Israel and finish in Rome.  This official Giro d’Italia tour gives riders and spectators a chance to get a real taste of Giro d’Italia action. Join us on an exciting weekend tour filled with great cycling exploring the beautiful Italian countryside. Our team of guides will support you with our customised minibuses. Breakfasts and evening meals are included and both cyclists and spectators are welcome.

Our service:
We will provide daily transport with our minibuses with trailers and roof bike racks.
Every day there will be cycling opportunities as well as options for spectators to watch the Giro d’Italia.

Final stage in Rome:
You can either finish your tour in Milan and depart Sunday morning or you can come to Rome on Sunday morning. We will take you to the train station and you will be in Rome for the final stage of the 2018 Giro d’Italia. Our hotel is located across from the Coliseum. Please read the itinerary for more information.

Bike rental:
If you don’t want to travel with your own bike, why not make use of our bike rental option? We have Willier bikes available for rental for the duration of our tour. The bikes will be fitted on arrival in and then collected back from you at the end of the tour.

Our team of guides will support you with our customised tour vehicle and minibuses. Breakfasts and evening meals are included most nights. Both cyclists and spectators are welcome.

Monday 21st May, 2018 – Giro rest day in Trento:
As the Giro has its rest day, please arrive today. You can come and join us directly at the hotel or we will provide an airport transfer from Bergamo airport at 16.00 today.

Lake Garda is the largest of the North Italian lakes and covers 370 sq kilometres. It offers visitors a wealth of excursions and activities. The Dolomites, the historical cities of Verona, Venice, Brescia and Trento are all within easy reach. Visits of the charming lakeside villages and towns are a must, Sirmione, Torbole, Riva del Garda, Limone, Torri del Benaco, Malcesine, to name but a few.

Along with its pleasant climate the natural features of the lake lend themselves to a host of outdoor and sports activities which make it one of the most versatile holiday destinations in Italy.

The Giro del Trentino is multi-day race that takes place in this area every year so we are going to explore some of the climbs from that event today. It recently changed its name to ‘Tour of the Alps’.

Tuesday 22nd May, 2018 – Stage 16 – ITT – Trento to Rovereto:

Today’s stage:
On the Giro today is a hilly time trial from Trento to nearby Rovereto. Our hotel is in Riva del Garda so we are just 20km away from the finish of today’s time trial.

Our itinerary:
The spectators will go directly to the hospitality area at the finish in Rovereto today. You will see the stage live on large screens and you can relax in the hospitality area before watching all the riders coming in one by one from your vantage point at the finish.

For the cyclists we will provide a guided and supported ride from Riva along the lake to Monte Baldo and finally Rovereto. This is about 75km with 2000 metres of climbing. We will set off early to ensure we get the most out of the day and we fit in our ride before all the Giro action.

Finish hospitality area:
Guests of the ‘Dante’ hospitality area arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the hospitality tent. Being in a hospitality area on the finishing straight is a great way to cheer on your favourite riders without having to push through the crowds of the general public. Viewing of the race is from the hospitality zone, standing area. The hospitality area is located on the finishing straight and will offer snack bar/coffee and drinks service. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

Wednesday 23rd May, 2018 – Stage 17 – Riva del Garda – Iseo:

Today’s stage:
After the start in Riva del Garda the Giro d’Italia will move towards Milan today.

Our itinerary:
After breakfast we will stay in Riva as the start is right here today so we can see the build up and the hustle and bustle of the race. We will provide a fully supported, guided ride in the Lake Garda area for the cyclists this afternoon after the riders have started. We will follow the riders once the roads have opened up the first climb of Molina di Ledro followed by some other roads in the area (more details coming soon)

Thursday 24th May, 2018 – Stage 18 – Milan to Pratonevoso:

Today’s stage:
The Giro is moving quite far south today into the Alps to Pratonevoso near Cuneo and the French border. We will not follow the route that far and move onto our next hotel today in Susa instead after we have seen the start near Milan which is on our way today.

Our itinerary:
After an early breakfast we will check out of the hotel and depart Lake Garda. We will load luggage and bikes and go straight to Susa with an en-route stop in Abbiategrasso near Milan.

We will get to Susa just after lunch time so this afternoon, we have the opportunity to explore some of the local area. If you are up for it, you can even tackle the Colle delle Finestre this afternoon, straight out of the door of the hotel.

The hotel Napoleon in the village of Susa is a family-run hotel which is set in the heart of the Susa Valley, near the Colle delle Finestre and the Moncenisio pass (Col de Mont Cenis).

Friday 25th May, 2018 – Stage 19 – Venaria Reale – Bardonecchia:

Our itinerary:
We have a treat in store for you today. We have accreditation to do a ‘cross the finish line’ VIP experience. From our base in Susa it’s about 40 kilometres to the finish in Bardonecchia. We will take our tour vehicle to Bardonecchia so the non-cyclists are in place at the finish. The riders will be able to ride the final section of the stage. For the tough riders, we propose to ride the final 3 Cols; Finestre,  Sestriere plus the final climb up to Bardonecchia to cross the official finish line of today’s stage. Our support vehicle is on hand in case you don’t make it.

We will then all get together for photos on the official podium followed by a back stage tour and the finish of the riders of the Giro.

Saturday May 27th, 2017 – Stage 20 – Susa – Cervinia:

Today’s stage:
From Susa, this stage will take the riders on the final mountain stage which will give any GC contestants their last chance to make a bid for the final victory.

Our itinerary:
We will leave Susa before the start of today’s stage and we will take you to the village of Arnad, just before the 3 final climbs of today’s Giro d’Italia. Ahead of the riders we will climb the Col Tsecore, Col st Pantaleon and finally Cervinia. Our minibus with Giro accreditation follows you and is on hand for support if required. This is a very tough 90km of climbing.

Finish hospitality area:
Guests of the ‘Dante’ hospitality area arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the hospitality tent. Being in a hospitality area on the finishing straight is a great way to cheer on your favourite riders without having to push through the crowds of the general public. Viewing of the race is from the hospitality zone, standing area. The hospitality area is located on the finishing straight and will offer snack bar/coffee and drinks service. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

After the finish we take you to Milan Malpensa and we stay 1 night at the hotel Crowne Plaza near Malpensa airport. We will have our evening meal at the Crowne Plaza tonight.

Sunday May 27th, 2017 – Stage 21 – Roma – Optional:
On Sunday, you have the option to take the hotel’s free shuttle and fly home from Malpensa airport or you can join us and take the train to go to Rome to watch the final stage of the 2018 Giro d’Italia. (available at an additional £260 per person)

Includes:

  • Train to Rome
  • 1 night at the 4 star hotel Kolbe
  • Airport departure transfer from Rome on Monday

Today’s stage:
A circular stage with start and finish in Rome. It has become customary for Grand Tours to have the final stage with an afternoon, early evening finish.

Our itinerary:
Our hotel is conveniently located in the city centre across from the Colisseum. To make your Rome weekend even more special, why not book one of the Rome hospitality options? An overview is below.

START PASS Hospitality:
When you arrive in the start stage town, the Giro Club staff will welcome you. You will receive a day pass which gives you access to the hospitality tent allowing  you to enjoy the festivities of the start area, within an enclosed area. Here you will have access to finger foods and tea/coffee and soft drinks. You will have an accreditation pass that will let you come and go as you please, and be up close to the riders and experience the exciting pre-race atmosphere.

START PASS TOP Hospitality:
This is the top level Hospitality that is available at the start area. Within your enclosed hospitality zone, you will have access to a better level of catering than the normal START PASS and also the location is closer to the signing on podium. This is also where the local VIP guests will watch the start from. When you arrive in the start stage town, the Giro Club staff will welcome you. You will receive a day pass which gives you access to The START PASS TOP hospitality tent allowing you to enjoy the festivities of the start area, within an enclosed area. Here you will have access to finger foods and tea/coffee and soft drinks. You will have an accreditation pass that will let you come and go as you please, and be up close to the riders and experience the exciting pre-race atmosphere.

ARRIVAL PASS Finish Hospitality:
Guests of the ‘ARRIVAL PASS’ hospitality area, can arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the hospitality tent. Being in a hospitality area on the finishing straight is a great way to cheer on your favourite riders without having to push through the crowds of the general public. Viewing of the race is from the hospitality zone, standing area. The hospitality area is located on the finishing straight and will offer snack bar/coffee and drinks service. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

ARRIVAL PASS TOP Finish Hospitality:
Guests of Giro Club will arrive at the finish a little before the cyclists, and will have access to the Giro Club Truck, reserved for the top stars and located in a privileged area near the finish line. The Truck will offer snack/coffee bar service, and TV screens will broadcast the final kilometres of the race until the riders come into view. Every guest will also receive the exclusive VIP gift of Giro d’Italia.

ARRIVAL PASS LOUNGE:
Only available in Rome for the grand finale of the 101st Giro d’Italia, celebrate in style in the hospitality lounge, in prime position on the finishing straight. The race action is broadcast live inside the lounge on TV screens, and your pass allows you to move between the lounge and the final stretch of the course. Guests have access to a non-stop buffet serving a variety of appetisers, pasta dishes, main course and desserts as well as an open bar.

Drive Experience – ON REQUEST:
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a full day experience of the Giro d’Italia, from Start Zone through to Finish-line. You will be met on arrival at the Start Zone and have Hospitality Area access, before being introduced to your driver for the day who will show you to your VIP car for the day. You will follow the days stage and enjoy a box lunch en-route. At the finish line you will have access to the Giro Club hospitality with open bar and finger food catering.

Single travellers and twin to share:
We welcome single travellers on our tours and holidays as it is a great way to join a like-minded group of people and you will make lots of new friends. If you would like to join our group as a single traveller we can offer you two options. A single room or if you want to avoid the single supplement then you can make use of our ‘twin to share’ option. We will pair you up with another rider (of the same sex) and you can enjoy the event without having to pay extra.
