TOUR DE FRANCE 2017
The Alps Part 1
8th to 10th July 2017
The Tour de France visits the Alps twice in 2017. The first passage has a couple of great stages and as they take place over a weekend we take the opportunity to offer a weekend travel package.
On this official Tour de France tour you will see the riders of the 2017 Tour de France on their first visit of the Alps. This Tour to ride and watch will include a hotel in Annecy, daily ride options and spectators are also welcome.
The official 2017 Tour de France road book is included as well as official TDF merchandise and exclusive VIP access tickets to watch the Tour from up close. Bike rental is also available if you don’t want to bring your own bike.
This Tour’s Highlights:
- 2017 Tour de France welcome pack with official Le Tour merchandise and the sought after 2017 TDF road book

- Official Tour de France ‘Relais Etape’ hospitality on the Chambery stage
Your tour vehicle will have a bike trailer especially designed to transport bikes fully assembled and there is also one of our customised minibuses on hand as a support vehicle for the various guided rides that we offer during the tour. Riders and spectators are welcome as we will offer a daily programme for both.

Izoard finishline hospitality:
The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Izoard and Galibier. Access to these areas is usually reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors and team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. You will be served with drinks and snacks and there is a big screen to watch the LIVE action as it unfolds. After watching the finish, you will celebrate the victory with Champagne.
Relais Etape Hospitality:
For both riders and spectators we offer the ‘Relais Etape’ experience. Enjoy a sit down lunch, a comfortable setting with a large screen to watch today’s deciding stage. The ‘Relais Etape’ is an area on the course of a Tour de france stage which takes the form of a small village in a prime position along the route, just a few kilometres from the finish line. We will accommodate a ride to this area for those who are cycling and spectators will be taken directly to the ‘Relais Etape’ to enjoy the day.
This inspiring package mirrors the excitement of the race and includes:
- A clubhouse to accommodate all guests
- Welcome aperitif and unlimited buffet
- Entertainment and live coverage of the race on a giant screen
- Champagne celebration of the day’s action
- Tour de France gift

Saturday, July 8th – Stage 8 – 187km – Dole to Station des Rousses
This stage will take place in its entirety in the Jura region. There are some tough climbs on the menu with the last climbs giving an opportunity for an opportunistic rider to take the stage victory. The final climb is the Côte de la Combe de Laisia et Les Molunes and its summit comes at just 11 kilometres from the finish.
Sunday, July 9th – Stage 9 – 181km – Nantua / Chambéry
We were pretty excited when we first saw this stage. This is going to be a spectacular stage as the rest day comes straight after this. It’s a climbing festival, usually reserved for later on in the Tour. The climbs that are going to make the difference are the Col de la Binche and the Grand Colombier from its hardest side meaning 225 gradients before the Mont du Chat just before the finish in Chambéry.
Friday July 7th, 2017 – Arrival day
Our tour starts in Annecy today so you can either make your way to the Hotel Best Western International in Annecy and come and meet us there or you can make use of our airport arrival transfers at 11.00, 15.00 and finally 19.00. After breakfast we will load the bikes onto the trailer and we will set off to Les Rousses which is where today’s stage will have its finish. The riders will be dropped off on the way and will be supported by our minibus on their ride to Les Rousses. Spectators will continue and we will all meet up together in Les Rousses to enjoy Izoard finish line hospitality. Please see above for full details.
