About the Hotel:

★★★★★ The Peak Chalet Sainte Foy:
Situated in the heart of Sainte Foy Tarentaise for easy access to some of the most famous riding routes in the Alps, The Peak is a boutique luxury property accommodating guests on a half-board basis.

In addition to the services of a private chef and dedicated host, facilities also include sauna, hammam, treatment room, balcony hot tub and gym with Wattbike.

Each of the spacious en-suite bedrooms is available with super king or twin beds according to your requirements, and furnished with fine Egyptian cotton linen.
The property offers free Wi-Fi access and satellite channels, with each of the 8 bedrooms also equipped with its own flat screen TV.

Balconies on each of the 4 floors provide panoramic views across the valley, best appreciated whilst relaxing in the top floor balcony hot tub.

Back inside, The Peak has been tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout in collaboration with a local designer, and the high vaulted ceilings, exposed timbers, and natural light make the large living area a real focal point in the property.

Free parking and bike storage facilities are also available on site.

As well as having easy access to the classic local road cycling routes (with climbs featuring over 40 times on Le Tour), Sainte Foy provides a truly authentic and un-spoilt Alpine backdrop for your stay.

(Please note – as this property is a chalet rather than a hotel, the 5* star rating is advisory)

Saturday 14th July, 2018 – Arrival day:
Our tour starts today so you can either make your way to the Peak in Sainte Foy en Tarentaise near Bourg Saint Maurice and come and meet us there or you can make use of our airport arrival transfers from Geneva airport at 10.00 and 16.00.

If you would like a private transfer, then please contact us for availability or call us on +44 (0) 161 703 8161

This evening we will be on hand to assist you with putting your bikes together if you are travelling with your bike. We will also have your rental bike ready if you have chosen this option.

This evening we will take the opportunity to introduce everybody in our group and talk through the itinerary of the weekend.

Sunday 15th July – First cycling day:
As this is our first day cycling in the area and we have some tough days coming up this week, we will provide a guided ride today into the Tarentaise valley. We provide minibus support, food and drink during the rides plus our bike guide will ride with you and plan the day.

We will keep it relatively short but if you feel at the end of the day that you want to do it a bit more, you can ride from Bourg st Maurice back up to the chalet in Sainte Foy for a 15km steady climb.

Sainte Foy>>Vulmix>>Versant Soleil>>Notre dame de Pré>>Bourg St Maurice (ride up to Sainte Foy for those who can)

Monday 16th July, 2018 – Tour de France rest day:
After the cobbles of Northern France the riders of the 2018 Tour de France will enjoy their first rest day in Annecy.

We will transfer you over to Albertville and we will ride stage 11 of Le Tour from Albertville to La Rosière which is 108km. Transport back to Sainte Foy after La Rosiere.

Tuesday 17th July, 2018 – Col de L’Iseran:
Today the Tour de France is a little bit  too far away from us so we take the opportunity to tackle the giant Col de L’Iseran via Val d’isere.  This is one of the highest roads in Europe.

Wednesday 18 July, 2018 – Albertville to La Rosiere:
The next Alpine stage will start from Albertville and head into the Beaufortain and Tarentaise areas of the Savoie with a finish in La Rosiere, a popular French ski resort on the Italian border just across the valley from Sainte Foy.

Our itinerary...
Cyclists can join us on our guided ride to La Rosiere today. We are in a great place in Sainte Foy to ride to La Rosiere via the Col de Petit Saint Bernard on some of today’s race route.

Our ride finishes in La Rosiere where we have access to watch today’s finish VIP style at the ‘Izoard’ finish hospitality venue.

Izoard finishline hospitality:
The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Izoard and Galibier. Access to these areas is usually reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors and team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. You will be served with drinks and snacks and there is a big screen to watch the LIVE action as it unfolds. After watching the finish, you will celebrate the victory with Champagne.

Thursday 19th July, 2018 – Bourg St Maurice to Alpe d’Huez:
Today we have access to the ‘Village Depart’ area.

Village Depart in Bourg st Maurice:
The 2018 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider’s paddock.

Friday 20th July, 2018 – Bourg d’Oisans to Valence:
Today we will climb the Col de Madeleine which will feature on Thursday’s stage from Bourg st Maurice to Alpe d’Huez. We will start from Bourg today and ride the first section of the stage into the Maurienne Valley via the Col de Madeleine. For those with the legs, it is possible to ride the Col in reverse before riding back to Sainte Foy.

Saturday 21st July, 2018 – Departure day:
As the riders of the 2018 Tour de France move south towards the Pyrenees, it is time for us to go home. We will run 2 airport transfers to Geneva airport, arriving in Geneva at 09.00 and 14.00. The journey takes about 2.5hrs so please ensure that your flight times are in line with this.
