The stages:

17/07/2018 – Stage 10 – Annecy / Le Grand-Bornand – 169km:
The plateau des Glières was one of the strongholds of the Maquis (French resistance) in WW2 and it features for the first time in the Tour de France in 2018. This 6km climb at 11% average is also special for another reason: just for the second time after the war, the Tour tackles an unpaved road.

18/07/2018 – Stage 11 – Albertville / La Rosière Espace San Bernardo -108km:
A very short stage of only 108km where the riders have to remain composed as they face a series of cols. It all starts with the col Bisanne before the riders go through Beaufort from where they tackle the col du Pré and the barrage de Roselend and the Cormet de Roselend. The descent to Bourg-Saint-Maurice is fast and technical and from there the riders have a summit finish at la Rosière. This will be the first out of 3 mountain top finishes of this year’s tour.

19/07/2018 – Stage 12 – Bourg-Saint-Maurice Les Arcs / Alpe d’Huez – 175km:
The Tour returns to l’Alpe-D’Huez with its 30th summit finish after the 21 mythical switchbacks. The last 3 times a Frenchman stood on the podium: Rolland in 2011, Riblon in 2013 et Pinot in 2015. This stage will be full of classic Alpine climbs (Madeleine and Croix-de-Fer) and it has the most climbing (5000m).

20/07/2018 – Bourg d’Oisans / Valence – Stage 13 – 169km:
A stage heading out of the Alps through the Rhone Valley suited to the sprinters.

Your tour vehicle will have a bike trailer especially designed to transport bikes fully assembled and there is also one of our customised minibuses on hand as a support vehicle for the various guided rides that we offer during the tour. Riders and spectators are welcome as we will offer a daily programme for both.

Monday 16th July, 2018 – Tour de France rest day:
After the cobbles of Northern France the riders of the 2018 Tour de France will enjoy their first rest day in Annecy.

Our tour starts in Megeve today so you can either make your way to the hotel in Megeve and come and meet us there or you can make use of our airport arrival transfers from Geneva airport at 12.00 and finally 17.00. This evening we will be on hand to assist you with putting your bikes together if you are travelling with your bike. We will also have your rental bike ready if you have chosen this option.

This evening we will take the opportunity to introduce everybody in our group and talk through the itinerary of the weekend.

You are free to make you own arrangements for the evening meal this evening as your stay at the Hotel Au Vieux Moulin is on a bed and breakfast basis.

Tuesday 17th July, 2018 – Annecy to Le Grand Bornand:
Today’s stage will start at the nearby lake side town of Annecy and finishes 169km later at the nearby ski station of Le Grand Bornand after having conquered some tough climbs. Megeve is in an almost perfect location for stage access.

Our itinerary...
The destination for both cyclists and spectators is Sain-Jean-de-Sixt near La Clusaz, just up the road from Megeve where we should be able to watch the riders come past twice; first when they come past St-Jean-de-Sixt and then as they finish at the Le Grand Bornand. Spectators will go directly there on our tour bus. Cyclists can take part in our guided ride which will finish in Le Grand Bornand – this ride is roughly 35km via the Col des Aravis, with about 750m of climbing.

You are free to make you own arrangements for the evening meal this evening. There are lots of nice restaurants in Megeve.

Wednesday 18th July, 2018 – Albertville to La Rosiere:
The next Alpine stage will start from Albertville and head into the Beaufortain and Tarentaise areas of the Savoie with a finish in La Rosiere, a popular French ski resort on the Italian border.

Our itinerary...
Today we will be moving to Les 2 Alpes near Alpe d’Huez after watching the start of today’s stage. After packing up your luggage and checking out we will load the tour bus and we will take you to the Village Depart in Albertville.

Cyclists can join us on our guided ride to Albertville today. We are in a great place in Megeve to ride to Albertville via Les Saisies to go on some of today’s race route. The likely route will be 50km over the Montée de Bisanne, with over 1,000m of climbing.

We expect to get to Les 2 Alpes for about 17.00 – 18.00 today so you’ll have time to get settled in and explore before the evening meal at the hotel Mercure.

Village Depart in Albertville:
The 2018 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider’s paddock.

Thursday 19th July, 2018 – Bourg St Maurice to Alpe d’Huez:
Today we have access to the ‘Relais Etape’ hospitality area which gives the riders an ideal opportunity to join us on our guide bike ride there from the hotel in Les 2 Alpes.

Our itinerary...
After breakfast we will set off to spend the day at the Relais Etape which includes lunch there.

The riders will be supported by our bike guide and support minibus on their ride to the Relais Etape.

Non-cyclists will come on the  minibus and we will all meet up together to enjoy the Relais Etape. The cyclists need to get changed into some leisure wear before going into the hospitality area.

Relais Etape Hospitality:
For both riders and spectators we offer the ‘Relais Etape’ experience. Enjoy a sit down lunch, a comfortable setting with a large screen to watch today’s deciding stage. The ‘Relais Etape’ is an area on the course of a Tour de france stage which takes the form of a small village in a prime position along the route, just a few kilometres from the finish line. We will accommodate a ride to this area for those who are cycling and spectators will be taken directly to the ‘Relais Etape’ to enjoy the day.

This inspiring package mirrors the excitement of the race and includes:

  • A clubhouse to accommodate all guests
  • Welcome aperitif and unlimited buffet
  • Entertainment and live coverage of the race on a giant screen
  • Champagne celebration of the day’s action
  • Tour de France gift

We will again come back quite late so the evening meal is available at the hotel.

Friday 20th July, 2018 – Bourg d’Oisans to Valence:
Today’s start is in the village at the valley bottom between Les 2 Alpes and Alpe d’Huez; Le Bourg d’Oisans. We will take you down to watch the riders get ready for their stage to Valence today. After the riders are on their way we can enjoy the rest of the day in Les 2 Alpes. Cyclists can set their own time up the Alpe d’Huez climb this afternoon before riding back to Les 2 Alpes via Bourg d’Oisans – this route is 40km, with 2,000m of climbing.

Both cyclists and spectators will enjoy the ‘Village Depart’ today in Le Bourg d’Oisans.

Village Depart in Le Bourg d’Oisans:
The 2018 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider’s paddock.
