TOUR DE FRANCE 2018

Brittany to Roubaix

10th to 16th July 2018

On this official 2018 Tour de France tour you will see the riders during their visit of Brittany before watching them on the cobbles near Roubaix. This Tour to ride and watch will include well located hotels, VIP access, transport, daily ride options with non-riders also welcome.

On this tour we follow the riders of the 2018 Tour de France as they tackle two hilly “Spring Classic style” stages in Brittany. This is followed by two transition stages which initially look to be for the sprinters, however cross winds could easily split the peloton and the GC! Also one of these stages Dreux / Amiens Métropole is  on Bastille Day, which will also guarantee a fantastic atmosphere. Finally, Stage 9 features 22 km of cobbles to the iconic Roubaix.

A veritable mix of terrain will no doubt make for drama and excitement.

The official 2018 Tour de France Road Book is included as well as official TDF merchandise and exclusive VIP access tickets to watch the Tour from up close. Bike rental is also available if you don’t want to bring your own.

Wednesday 11th July 2018 – Lorient to Quimper:
Today’s stage:
Today’s stage resembles something you would see in the Belgian Ardennes with lots of sharp, steep climbs in succession.

Our itinerary...
Today we have access to the official Tour de France ‘Relais Etape’ hospitality area which gives the riders an ideal opportunity to join us on our guide bike ride there. For the spectators there is a nice lunch with TV screens to follow the action plus live viewing of the riders as they come past.

From our tour vehicle we will accommodate a guided ride as well so the cyclists can ride some of the climbs.

Thursday 12th July 2018 – Brest to Mur de Bretagne:
Today’s stage:
The Mur de Bretagne takes centre stage yet again today with a double ascent before a summit finish after a tough final climb. From our hotel in Rennes, we will make our way to the Mur de Bretagne where we will watch the riders come past twice. They will first start the climb at 16km from the finish before returning for another go just before the final ascent.

Our itinerary...
The destination for both cyclists and spectators is the ‘Izoard’ finish hospitality venue on the Mur de Bretagne. Spectators will go directly there on our tour bus. Cyclists can take part in our guided ride which will finish at the Izoard area. Non-cyclists will continue on the tour bus and we will all meet up together at the Mur de Bretagne to enjoy Izoard finish line hospitality. The cyclists need to get changed into some leisure wear before going into the Izoard hospitality area.

Izoard finishline hospitality:
The Tour de France sets up a limited number of areas located on course within the final portion of the stage. These have names like Izoard and Galibier. Access to these areas is usually reserved and by invitation only. You will see famous ex-cyclists, sponsors and team guests. Typically these areas are within 200 metres or so of the finish line. There is also a spectator friendly elevated viewing area. You will be served with drinks and snacks and there is a big screen to watch the LIVE action as it unfolds. After watching the finish, you will celebrate the victory with Champagne.

For more information on hospitality at the Tour de France have a look at the Video. After we have seen the finish we will return to Rennes and as we will be back late, it will be convenient to eat at the hotel tonight.

Friday 13th July 2018 – Fougeres to Chartres:

Our itinerary...
Today we will be moving on to St Quentin after enjoying the Village Depart in Fougeres. After packing up your luggage and checking out we will load the tour bus and we will take you to Fougeres. Cyclists can join our guided ride to the start in Fougeres today. After the Village Depart we will make the journey over to St Quentin from Fougers via Paris. This will take about 5 hours. We expect to get to St Quentin for about 19.00 today. The hotel Ibis st Quentin is in the centre of town so there are many restaurants nearby.

Village Depart:
The 2018 Tour de France entourage and organisation travel around with the riders. The team buses park within an enclosed and restricted area. An expo type village is created at the start of each one of the stages. It is usually here that everyone who is linked in any way to the Tour de France like TV, sponsors and celebrities from the cycling world will show themselves. Also local companies will be keen to show off their wares. Your VIP passes will give you access to the village and the rider’s paddock.

Saturday 14th July 2018 – Dreux to Amiens (Bastille Day):

Our itinerary...
We have a treat in store for you today. The cyclists can join us for our ‘cross the finish line’ VIP experience. We will ride on the very roads that the peloton will ride on just hours later. Relais Etape Hospitality:
For both riders and spectators we offer the ‘Relais Etape’ experience. Enjoy a sit down lunch, a comfortable setting with a large screen to watch today’s deciding stage.
The ‘Relais Etape’ is an area on the course of a Tour de france stage which takes the form of a small village in a prime position along the route, just a few kilometres from the finish line.
